Sue Garino has called Tigard home for more than a decade and spent more than 18 years working for the City of Tigard, in a support role for the Tigard Police Department. During that time, Sue learned how the City works from the inside.

She also served nine years on the Tigard Police Officers Association executive board and worked on four local levy and bond campaigns. Those experiences gave her the opportunity to work with residents, city leaders and the business community while seeing firsthand the challenges Tigard faces.

After retirement, Sue decided she wasn’t quite done serving her community.

She is running for City Council to bring a practical, common sense perspective to City Hall. Her priorities are straightforward: protect core services and public safety, spend tax dollars carefully, support local businesses, keep Tigard affordable, and make sure residents feel heard when they contact their city.

Tigard is Sue’s home. She knows the community, she knows how the City works, and she is ready to serve Tigard from a new perspective.
